ECONOMIC
IMPACT
Our graduates are a key contributor to the state's economy. But there are other pieces to our economic impact. As the studies cited in this section show, we have a significant economic impact on the communities and regions where we are located. At the same time, our institutions and their employees, students, and visitors generate economic activity that creates thousands of “spin-off” jobs across diverse sectors of Vermont's economy, generating revenue for virtually every type of business in the state.
Vermont’s independent colleges play a central role in the development of tomorrow’s labor force so that Vermont succeeds in an increasingly knowledge-intensive economy.
“After graduating from an independent college, I wanted to stay in Vermont and put my skills and ideas to work. Thirty years later, I am proud that my business is considered a vital part of our community.”
